The Artist

Hang Me High

Art installation by Robert Gordon McHarg III, May-August 2010

In June 2006, artist Robert Gordon McHarg III founded and created the Subway Gallery, fashioned out of a 1960’s kiosk in a pedestrian subway underneath the Marylebone Flyover. To date, the gallery has hosted over 50 exhibitions. McHarg’s installation highlights his strong connections with the music world featuring his portrait by Paul Simonon (The Clash/Gorillaz). McHarg's art/art direction/curating projects include Mick Jones ‘The Rock and Roll Public Library’, ‘Joe Strummer; Past, Present and Future’ and ‘Art-Tube 01’, London’s first and only art exhibition to be held on a working tube train featuring specially commissioned works by Damien Hirst, Yoko Ono, Gavin Turk and Vivienne Westwood among others.

Playtime is curated by Robert Gordon McHarg III with support programming from Olly Dixon (Margaret/Kill Em All) and Carmelita Morales (Girlcore).
